According to an Indian official, China was not invited because as the head of the G-20, India’s priority was to listen to the voices of other developing countries. Experts believe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government are set to compete with China to become the leader of the Global South.

India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Shivshankar Menon believes that China has increased the debt problems of developing countries. While the West is mired in a war in Ukraine.
