China ran the world’s fastest hydrogen train without oil and electricity, when will it start in India

Germany is ahead of the curve with 14 hydrogen-fuelled Alstom trains already in service. CRRC machines can beat German trains by about 20 km/h (12 mph), but German trains currently offer a much greater range at ~620 mi (1,000 km).
The world’s largest rail vehicle manufacturer has launched a train running on hydrogen fuel with a supercapacitor buffer. According to the report, the speed of this hydrogen train is 100 mph (160 km/h), which makes it the fastest hydrogen train ever. The train, jointly developed by Chinese state-owned Monolith CRRC and Chengdu Rail Transit, is China’s first hydrogen-powered passenger train, offering a range of 373 miles (600 km). The funny thing is that when it runs, water comes out instead of pollution. It is also equipped with a self-driving system with 5G communication, automatic wake-up, start and stop, and return to depot functionality.
Germany is not far behind
Germany is ahead of the curve with 14 hydrogen-fuelled Alstom trains already in service. CRRC machines can beat German trains by about 20 km/h (12 mph), but German trains currently offer a much greater range at ~620 mi (1,000 km). It’s interesting to note that while Japan and Korea have been the most vocal countries pushing green hydrogen as a transportation solution, the latest figures show that China is deploying an actual hydrogen refueling station. According to media reports, there are only more than 1,000 hydrogen stations in the world and about one-third of them are in China.
When will it start in India
After the launch of Asia’s first hydrogen train in China, such a train can soon hit the tracks in India itself. Recently Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reiterated that Indian Railways will start indigenous hydrogen trains by December 2023. Even before this, the minister had confirmed the timeline several times.
