This destroyer will carry out other non-combat missions apart from search and rescue at sea. The three countries had done such a drill in the year 2019 as well. The US and its allies have always expressed concern about China’s growing interference in the region.

China is getting closer to the countries in this region which have been sidelined by the US. Only last week, an agreement has been reached between Saudi Arabia and Iran because of China. After this agreement, both the countries have agreed to forget the enmity of seven years and come together. Relations between Saudi Arabia and America have deteriorated since 2018 when journalist Jamal Khashoggi was murdered.
