China’s show of strength
After Taiwan’s President’s visit to the US, the Chinese military once again sent dozens of fighter jets and warships towards Taiwan in a show of strength. Taiwan’s Defense Ministry gave this information on Monday. The Chinese military had earlier announced three-day patrolling to prepare for the battle. China claims Taiwan as its part.
This action has been taken at a time when the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, hosted Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen in California, USA, despite China’s aggressive attitude. A delegation from the US Congress in Taiwan also met Tsai over the weekend after her return. China has imposed travel and financial sanctions against people associated with the meeting with McCarthy and Tsai’s visit to the US. Along with this, there has been an increase in military activities.
