China’s new move, rapid construction in Aksai Chin, know how it can increase India’s problems

Troops of both India and China are deployed along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. There is still tension between the two countries on various issues on the border. Just a few days ago, China’s big conspiracy has been revealed near LAC. The Chinese Army has increased preparations on LAC. The airfield, helipad construction is also going on at a fast pace. At the same time, China’s misdeeds regarding Aksai Chin have also been exposed. America’s think tank Chatham House has claimed that China is also building in the disputed Aksai Chin. He is engaged in building roads, outposts, camps and heliports in the areas.

The report by the UK-based think tank is based on an analysis of satellite photographs taken over six months from October 2022 and other evidence of massive ramping up of infrastructure on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Chatham House is also known as the Royal Institute of International Affairs. It has pointed out that satellite images of Aksai Chin show extended roads, checkpoints and parking areas, modern weatherproof camps equipped with solar panels and even helipads.

The expansion of China’s airspace along the LAC since 2020 has created the ability for the PLA to conduct wider operations and counter India’s comparative advantages in some areas. The border standoff has taken India-China relations to a six-decade low. Notably in June 2020, 20 Indian soldiers and at least four Chinese soldiers were killed after a brutal clash in the Galwan Valley. India’s top leadership has said that relations cannot be normalized until steps are taken to remove the abnormal situation on the LAC.
