Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang ordered Chinese diplomats posted overseas, as well as the ministries of agriculture and transportation, to assist in the search for survivors. The vessel, named ‘Lupenglaiyuanyu No. 8’, was operated by Penglaiyingyu Co Ltd and operated in the maritime zone of the eastern province of Shandong.
