Teaching work was disrupted due to violent protests by pro-Israel and Palestine students. There was tension for a few weeks at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania.
In this confrontation, the President of the University of Pennsylvania lost his job and the Harvard President remained surrounded in controversy for several weeks. In November, Columbia University administration took the extraordinary decision to temporarily suspend two pro-Palestinian student groups.
