According to the release, the verification and evaluation of the records of the affected people is being done rapidly by the administration and soon the compensation amount will be distributed to other affected people under the rehabilitation package. In the first week of January, water started leaking from an underground source in JP Colony of Joshimath and due to landslides, cracks had developed in buildings in many areas of the city, due to which many families had to leave their homes and shift to relief camps or other places.
