A judge in London dismissed a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump. Trump was accused by a former British agent of making shocking and scandalous claims that were false and damaged the reputation of the former US President. According to the Associated Press, Judge Karen Stein said Thursday that the action Trump took against Orbis Business Intelligence should not be prosecuted. He said there were no compelling reasons to allow the claim to proceed to trial. Christopher Steele founded the business in 2016 after preparing a dossier containing unfounded claims that sparked a political uproar shortly before Trump’s inauguration.
Trump has filed a lawsuit against the business founded by Steele that once ran the Russia desk for Britain’s secret intelligence service, also known as MI6, Orbis Business Intelligence for allegedly flouting British data protection rules. Is suing Trump for damages for the breach. This comes at a time when Trump is the frontrunner to become the Republican nominee for president in 2024 despite legal issues on the other side of the Atlantic.
