An official source told ‘The Dawn’ newspaper that the matter of illegally obtaining personal information of the army chief’s family members was probed by four different teams, on the basis of which six Nadra employees were suspended. Went. According to the source, action is also being taken against those at whose behest the personal data of the army chief’s family members was breached. He said that NADRA President Tariq Malik had ordered an inquiry against the accused employees on December 23, 2022 and March 2, 2023. In December last year, a joint investigation by NADRA and a security agency revealed that Farooq Ahmed, a junior executive working on a project related to the Benazir Income Support Program, was the first person to have illegally accessed relevant data.

A total of 10 accused officials were identified by the High Powered Investigation Committee on the instructions of the present Chairman by technically analyzing the log-ins, user IDs, system log-ins and IP addresses. After fact finding investigation, detailed investigation of the matter was initiated by questioning the suspects. According to officials, a charge sheet was filed in the case on January 6 and the six officers found guilty in the probe were suspended from service.
