Crocus City: Death toll in terrorist attack exceeds 60 – Dainik Savera Times

Moscow. The death toll from Friday’s terrorist attack on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall has risen to more than 60. On Saturday, the ICR said, ‘It has been preliminary confirmed that more than 60 people have been killed in the terrorist attack. The death toll may increase. ‘Earlier, according to initial reports, it was reported that at least 40 people were shot dead and more than 100 were injured in the attack. Three to five unidentified gunmen wearing body armor and armed with assault rifles opened fire indiscriminately at a Moscow mall on Friday, leading to a fire.

The attack on the Crocus City Mall massacre is being investigated by the security agency, FSB. The mall falls in the Moscow region just outside the city limits. According to local time, the attack took place here around 8 pm. According to RT report, chaos spread there after the attack.

The attackers targeted concertgoers and video from the scene shows bodies scattered all around. They also reportedly threw hand grenades to set the building on fire.

Authorities launched an emergency response, deploying several ambulances as well as heavily armed police units. A helicopter has also been deployed to help extinguish the massive fire.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said: ‘The Russian Foreign Ministry has been receiving calls of condolences from ordinary citizens from all over the world following the terrible tragedy that occurred at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall. They are strongly condemning this bloody terrorist attack.
