The Commercial Banking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has conducted a successful raid, unearthing huge amounts of foreign and local currency worth billions of rupees at an under-construction residential property in Shamshabad. This raid is part of a nationwide campaign against Hundi and Hawala business of exchange companies. This operation was followed by careful evidence collection regarding illegal business activities. This was followed by a raid targeting a house in Rawalpindi, in which 13 computerized iron lockers were seized, containing large amounts of foreign and local currency cash. Two persons were arrested in connection with these operations.

The FIA ​​wing that conducted the raid surveyed the location for a week before launching its operation. A small iron gate was found in the parking area of ​​the double basement of the plaza. Additional construction equipment was also kept there. The agency team broke down the outer walls and heard a loud noise, which revealed that there was an empty space behind. On breaking the wall they found a small secret door behind which were 13 big iron lockers. Security systems and cameras were also installed on the premises. According to reports, there was a heated exchange between the FIA ​​team and the plaza owner over the exposed money.

The plaza owner insisted that the officials leave the money at the spot, while the FIA ​​team said that the recovered money would be confiscated. The FIA ​​called the police for assistance. The agency said, the preliminary report has been sent to higher authorities. When the owner of the plaza, Shaikh Iftikhar Adil, was contacted and asked about the seizure of money, he said information had been received that no bank was operating in the premises.
