Now if the government increases DA by four percent, it will increase to 46 percent. After this, you will get dearness allowance of Rs 13,800 on your basic salary of Rs 30 thousand. That means your salary will increase by Rs 1200 per month.

Average of All India Consumer Price Index is used by the government to calculate DA of employees. However, different formulas are used to calculate DA of central employees and PSU employees.

Formula to calculate dearness allowance of central employees: Average of AICPI of last 12 months – 115.76)/115.76]×100. At the same time, to calculate dearness allowance for PSU employees, the AICPI for the last 12 months – 115.76)/115.76]×100 formula is used.

DA’s gift

By giving dearness allowance to the employees during festivals by the Central Government, about one crore employees and pensioners will benefit from it. At present there are 47.58 lakh central employees and about 69.76 lakh pensioners.
