Bank Open: RBI said, all agency banks will be open to the public on March 31, 2024 (Sunday). The Government of India has requested to keep all branches of banks related to government receipts and payments open for transactions on March 31, 2024 (Sunday). So that accounts of all government transactions related to receipts and payments can be maintained in the financial year 2023.

This number of days will remain closed in March.

There will be a total of 7 days bank holiday in March 2024. In which 5 more holidays are left after 1st and 8th March. There will be a holiday in banks only in Bihar on March 22. This is because Bihar Day is to be celebrated on that day. Apart from this, there will be Holi holiday on 25th and 26th March. There will be Holi holiday in Patna on 27th March. There will be a Good Friday holiday on 29th March.

Reserve Bank Governor met Finance Minister Sitharaman

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das paid a courtesy call on Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday. This meeting of Das with the Finance Minister took place about a fortnight before the meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). These meetings are taking place at a time when the industry is demanding cut in interest rates and huge volatility is being seen in the stock markets. RBI has kept the key policy rate or repo at a high level of 6.5 percent from February 2023. It is believed that in the MPC meeting, estimates on inflation and growth scenario for the next financial year starting from April 1 will be presented.
