Big news has come regarding S-400 air defense system, one of the most dangerous weapons available with India. The delivery of five squadrons of S-400 air defense system to India will not be completed on time. Russia says that at present it is busy in war with Ukraine. This is the reason why he has not been able to send the remaining 2 squadrons of defense systems. Sources said Russia will hand over the remaining two S-400 air defense missile squadrons to India by the third quarter of 2026. Defense sources said that the two remaining missile squadrons of S-400 air defense missile system will be supplied by August 2026 and will help in further strengthening our air defense system. Russia was to deliver five squadrons by early 2024, but the supply was delayed due to the Russia–Ukraine war.

India has already received three squadrons of S-400 missile systems out of five ordered in 2018. The Indian Air Force has fully activated all three S-400 air defense missile squadrons received from Russia. Sources said that the kind of deployment that has been done shows that at present we have about 1.5 squadrons on the China and Pakistan front. The Air Force is also going to be the lead agency for long-range surface-to-air missile air defense systems, which will further boost Indian preparedness on both the China and Pakistan borders. The system will be supported by existing air defense systems of the three services, including Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) and is already operational.

This also includes the delivery of the S-400 Triumf air defense system that India purchased for $5.4 billion in 2018. Speaking at the Army Expo in Moscow, Alexander Mikheyev, CEO of Russia’s Rosoboronexport, had said in August last year that they would deliver all five S-400 regiments to India by the end of 2023.
