Karachi: An earthquake of 5.4 magnitude was felt in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Tuesday. So far, no immediate information about any casualty has been received. Officials have given this information. Giving information, Pakistan Meteorological Department said that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 35 kilometers, 150 kilometers north-west of Quetta.
According to the information, the capital Quetta, Noshki, Chagi, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Dalbadin, Pishin and some other areas of the province have also been affected by the earthquake in Balochistan. Pakistan Meteorological Department said that earthquake tremors were also felt in Pakistan-Iran border areas. Authorities have not reported any casualties from any area in Balochistan. In the past, Balochistan province has faced the horror of high intensity earthquakes many times. This resulted in several deaths, several injuries and extensive damage to buildings and houses.
A high-intensity earthquake struck the Harnai region of Balochistan in October 2021, killing 40 people and injuring 300 others. At the same time, there was massive damage in remote areas. A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck several areas in Balochistan in September 2013, killing at least 348 people and affecting more than 300,000 people in Awaran and Kech districts. At the same time, 21,000 houses were damaged. Another powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.8 struck Awaran district and other areas just two days later. In which seven people died and many people were also injured.
