Earthquake monitoring body EMSC said a magnitude 5.9 tremor was felt at around 10.19 am local time, 70 km east-southeast of Faizabad, Afghanistan. A magnitude 3.6 tremor was also felt 24 km south of Kahramanmaras in Turkey. At the same time, tremors have been felt in Pakistan’s Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and other provinces of Pakistan.
Earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 rocked the Syrian border in Turkey’s southeast. Due to this, there was a loss of life and property on a large scale in Türkiye.
