Education Budget 2023: Finance Minister Sitharaman has presented the general budget for the financial year 2023-24. In his budget, the Finance Minister has made many big and important announcements in the field of education. Apart from this, he has laid great emphasis on skill development. He said that Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 will be launched in the coming time.
Launch of PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana: In her budget speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 will be started in the coming three years. He said that under the plan, work will be done to make lakhs of youth of the country skilled. He said that 30 Skill India International Centers will also be opened across the country. Where they will be given better training.
Providing employment will be a priority: Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0, lakhs of youth have to be provided skills. Apart from this, on-job training, industry partnership, and alignment of courses with industry needs will also be emphasized. The Finance Minister said that modern courses like Coding, AI, Robotics, Mechatronics, IOT, 3-D will also be included for Plan 4.0. Printing, drones and soft skills will also be explained.
Emphasis on education in the last budget as well: This is the fifth budget of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Even before this, in the four budgets, the Finance Minister has focused a lot on the education sector. In the general budget of the financial year 2019-20, Rs 93,847 crore was allocated for the education sector. Whereas, in the budget of the financial year 2020-21, the government had focused more on the area of skill development. In the budget of the year 2021-22, Rs 93,224 crore was spent in the education sector. Now once again the government is preparing to start Skill Development 4.0. At the same time, the central government is also talking about starting 740 Eklavya model residential schools for 3.5 lakh tribal students in the coming 3 years.
