Emphasis on the development of tribals, a new scheme will start at a cost of Rs 15,000 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the countrymen in his first Mann Ki Baat program of this year, narrated the life stories of Padma awardees. A large number come from tribal communities and people associated with tribal society. Tribal life is different from city life, it has its own challenges too. Despite all this, the tribal society is always eager to save its traditions. The determination of PM Modi regarding the tribal welfare is visible. A glimpse of this has also been seen in the last full budget of Modi government 2.0. Emphasizing on the development of tribals, it has been announced to start with a cost of Rs 15,000 crore.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said PMBPTG Development Mission will be launched to improve the socio-economic condition of tribal groups in particular, to provide basic amenities to PBTG habitations. 15,000 crores will be made available to implement the scheme in the next 3 years. A capital outlay of Rs 2.40 lakh crore has been made for the Railways in the budget.
