Eight school teachers were killed in two separate incidents of targeted shooting in Pakistan’s restive northwestern tribal district on Thursday. Police gave this information. Police said the incident prompted Teri Mengal tribals to avenge Sharif’s killing by storming the staff room of the Government Teri Mengal High School in the same district and killing seven teachers from the Tori tribe (Shia tribe). Police said all the teachers were at the school to perform their examination duty. After this attack, the attackers fled. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but the area is known for sectarian conflict between Sunnis and Shiites.
