India is currently the fifth largest economy in the world and is making rapid strides to break into the top three.
Complete help reaches the poor today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that four decades ago, the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had said that when one rupee is sent for welfare from Delhi, it becomes 15 paise by the time it reaches the beneficiary. PM Modi said that his government has so far transferred Rs 28 lakh crore under the Direct Benefit Transfer in Welfare scheme under different schemes. He said that if we see now, when it was said that 15 paise reaches the beneficiaries, then this amount would have also gone into someone’s pocket.
80 thousand kilometers of highways were built in the country
PM Modi said that highways are being built in the country at a speed of 38 kilometers per day. In the last nine years, three and a half lakh kilometers of ruler roads have been made. About 80 thousand kilometers of national highways have been built. In these nine years, three crore poor families have been given pucca houses. This figure is so huge that even the population of many countries of the world is not that much, as many houses have been built and given to the poor. Right now India has reached number five in terms of metro length. Now in the coming few months we are going to reach number three.
