Exports of 90 major products from India to China increased last year: Commerce Ministry

New Delhi . Out of the total 161 items exported to China, exports of about 90 major items have increased last year. According to Commerce Ministry data, these include iron ore, telecommunication equipment and electronic components etc. According to the data, these 90 items account for 67.7 percent of the total items exported from India to China, while the exports of the remaining 71 items accounting for 32.3 percent have declined.
India’s exports to China have increased by more than $100 million last year in four stages. They are iron ore (increasing by 216.8 percent to $3.33 billion in 2023), cotton yarn (increasing by 542.6 percent to $611.1 million in 2023), spices (increasing by 19.4 percent to $132.2 million in 2023), and processed minerals (increasing by 174.19 percent in 2023 to 12.9 up to millions of dollars). Exports of 15 other products to China have increased from 10 to 100 billion dollars.
These commodities include marine products, iron and steel, telecommunication equipment, vegetable oils, agrochemicals, paper, paper board, drug formulations, organics, ACs, refrigerator machinery, paints, bulk minerals and ores and processed vegetables. According to the data, India’s exports of telecom equipment and electronic components to China are expected to increase by 46.45 percent and 6.75 percent to $247.5 million and $156.5 million, respectively, in 2023.
