First line of Bangladesh power grid project built by China started – Dainik Savera Times

The first line of the Bangladesh National Power Grid Upgrade and Renovation Project launched by the Chinese enterprise was officially put into operation on February 8, significantly improving the transmission capacity of the power grid in Rajshahi Division of northern Bangladesh.
Let us inform that the scope of the project includes construction, expansion, upgrade and conversion of about 99 sub-stations and about 1,000 kilometers of transmission lines under the jurisdiction of National Grid Corporation of Bangladesh.
After the project comes into operation and delivers power, it will effectively improve the Bangladesh power grid, enable the power grid to achieve closed loop of 132kV and 230kV ring network, and Bangladesh power grid stable operation and transmission. Will achieve the target of loss reduction.
According to statistics, so far, Chinese-funded enterprises have participated in the construction of power stations with a capacity of more than 9,038 MW in Bangladesh, accounting for about 35 percent of the total installed capacity in Bangladesh. It provides a guarantee of stable power supply for the rapid economic and social development of Bangladesh.
