London (Uttam Hindu News): A Virgin Atlantic flight from Manchester to New York was canceled moments before takeoff after an alert passenger noticed a missing bolt on the plane’s wings. Media reported that the incident occurred on January 15, when 41-year-old Phil Hardy, aboard a flight at Manchester Airport in Britain, noticed four bolts missing and informed the cabin crew.
The New York Post quoted a Virgin Atlantic representative as saying that engineers were immediately called in to perform maintenance checks on the Airbus A330 plane before its scheduled flight to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. In a video shared on social media, an engineer can be seen climbing onto the wing of the plane and fixing the problem.
Although Hardley was repeatedly assured by airline staff that there was no safety issue, he was nervous because the incident occurred just days after a door on an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 9 Max was blown off course.
