Mumbai: Amidst the bullish trend in global markets, local stock markets also opened strongly on Monday. During this period, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange reached its all-time high. There is a bullish trend in the stock markets due to better than expected Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data.
BSE’s 30-share Sensex rose 177.73 points to 73,983.88 points in early trade. Nifty was trading at an all-time high of 22,440.90 points. Among Sensex companies, shares of NTPC, Power Grid, Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank and Maruti were in profit. On the other hand, there was a decline in shares of JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Titan and Mahindra & Mahindra.
In other markets of Asia, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei, China’s Shanghai Composite were in profit. There was a decline in Hong Kong’s Hang Seng. American markets closed with gains on Friday. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) had sold shares worth a net Rs 81.87 crore on Saturday.
