For the first time in 14 years, the death penalty was given in Ramadan, this big Muslim country hanged a person

The holy month of Ramadan is grazing. But in the midst of this, a person has been hanged on behalf of a big Muslim country of the world. According to the European Saudi Organization for Human Rights (ESOHR), Saudi Arabia carried out executions during the holy month of Ramadan for the first time in 14 years. ESOHR, a nongovernmental organization with offices in London and Berlin, said the country had not seen a death sentence during the religious month since 2009. This year is the first time since 2009 that a person has been given death sentence in the month of Ramzan. This year brought the total number of death sentences in Saudi Arabia to 17.

The execution of death sentences during the holy month is in addition to a series of violations that emerged and intensified during the reigns of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, ESOHR said in a statement. For the first time since 2009 in Saudi Arabia, the death penalty has been given in the month of Ramadan. It is also being discussed in the world. According to Saudi Arabia’s official press agency, this person was sentenced to death on March 28, the fifth day of Ramadan, in Madina, the second holiest city of Islam.

Of the 17 people executed by Saudi authorities this year, 12 were Saudi nationals, one was a Pakistani national, as well as one Indian and one Jordanian. Jordanian Hussein Abo al-Kheir was executed on 12 March, despite the intervention of the United Nations and two British foreign ministers. Abo al-Kheir, a father of eight children who worked as a taxi driver, was allegedly tortured for 12 days and forced to sign a false confession of drug charges.
