Know what is Toshakhana case
Talking about the Toshakhana case in Pakistan, there is a government department by this name. Here the gifts given by heads of other governments, foreign personalities to the President, Prime Minister, MPs, bureaucrats and officials are preserved. Imran Khan, being the Prime Minister, was accused of buying the gifts kept in the Toshakhana at a low price and then earning profit by selling them, after which the politics of the country got heated. In the year 2018, Imran Khan had received many valuable gifts during his visit to Europe and especially Arab countries as the country’s PM. Many gifts were not declared by Imran, while many gifts were bought at a much lower price than the original price. Not only this, Imran went out and sold them at a huge price.
On October 21, 2022, the ECP disqualified Khan from holding public office on charges of making “false statements and misrepresentation”.
