Former PM of France Edward Philippe will come on India tour, these issues will be discussed

Former French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe will visit India from March 14-17 to boost bilateral economic ties, especially cooperation on ports and decentralized cooperation between local governments. The French Embassy in India has given information in a press release. He is currently the mayor of Le Havre, the largest commercial port city in France. During his visit, Edouard Philippe will visit Delhi and Mumbai. Philippe will meet with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to exchange views on tackling key global challenges at a time when India is chairing the G20 and the outlook for the France-India strategic partnership, which will mark its 25th anniversary this year. marks the 100th anniversary.

He will discuss with the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, the implementation of the India-France Roadmap on Ports Cooperation, especially Blue Economy and Ocean Governance. To promote business opportunities between France and India, Philippe will meet several prominent Indian investors, and will preside as the guest of honor at a business award ceremony organized by the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During his visit to Mumbai, Edouard Philippe will meet Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal and discuss opportunities for cooperation between the two port cities of Le Havre and Mumbai. He will also visit the Nhava Sheva port, where French container shipping company CMA-CGM has recently secured a 30-year concession, according to a press release from the French Embassy in India.

A delegation from HAROPA, a combination of port officials from Le Havre, Rouen and Paris, will accompany Philippe. With people-to-people ties being at the heart of India-France relations, Philippe will also share his experience as Prime Minister at two premier educational institutions in India. He will deliver a lecture on Finding Balance in an Imbalanced World at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. According to the press release, at Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College, he will discuss how literature and politics are intertwined.
