Islamabad. After the formation of the new government in Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, who has been the Finance Minister four times, has been appointed as the new Foreign Minister of the country. The new government formed in Pakistan wants to address a myriad of problems on the domestic and external fronts, including improving its relations with India and other neighbours. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday included 19 members in his cabinet.
Ishaq Dar is a senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He is Kashmiri by origin and is a Chartered Accountant (CA). He is also a confidant of party chief and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Ishaq Dar has little experience in managing foreign affairs, but he has been given the post of foreign minister in the new government at a time when Pakistan’s relations with its neighbor India as well as Afghanistan are at an all-time low.
