Pakistan said – one-sided and wrong things
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry says that ‘one-sided and misleading’ things have been said in this joint statement. The ministry said, ‘Pakistan has emphasized that the US should refrain from issuing statements that could be perceived as encouragement of baseless and politically motivated narratives from India’s side.’ The statement also emphasized that counterterrorism cooperation between Pakistan and the United States is progressing well. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, an enabling environment based on trust and understanding is necessary for further strengthening of Pakistan-US relations.
America replied
US State Department spokesman Matt Miller agreed to the summons issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Department. He told the routine media briefing that Pakistan has taken important steps to counter terrorist groups, but these are not enough. He said that America has appealed to take more steps in this direction. In his words, ‘we have also been consistent in the importance of Pakistan taking steps to permanently destroy all terrorist groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, and various other major organizations. But we will continue to take up this issue regularly with the Pakistani authorities.
Condemn all forms of terrorism
In a joint statement during PM Modi’s state visit to the US, both countries condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Modi and Biden appealed for concrete action against global terrorist organizations including terrorist organizations like Lashkar, Jaish and Hizbul Mujahideen. Both sides also demanded punishment for the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai and Pathankot attacks. These attacks were carried out from Pakistan and even today terrorists are roaming freely there. Lashkar was behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks. More than 160 people were killed in these attacks. At the same time, Jaish claimed responsibility for the 2019 Pulwama attack, in which 40 paramilitary personnel were killed.
