US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s absence from the G20 foreign ministers’ inaugural dinner hosted by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has fueled speculation that the Russia-Ukraine war is likely to make headlines at the meeting in New Delhi on March 2 (Thursday). There is a possibility. Which is being said to be very controversial. The rapidly growing bitterness between the United States and its allies on the one hand and Russia and China on the other is likely to draw top diplomats from the Group of 20 countries to the gathering. Along with Blinken and Jaishankar, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov will all be in attendance and will be clamoring for support from non-aligned members of the grouping.

China attaches importance to relations with India
Xi Jinping’s trusted aide Qin Gang has arrived in India for the first time after taking over as China’s foreign minister. The Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post has described the gang’s visit to India as a reformist step in India-China relations. The gang is likely to hold talks with EAM Jaishankar. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said that China attaches great importance to its relations with India. He said that both the countries are ancient civilizations and both have a population of more than one billion. “We are neighbors and both are emerging economies. Strong ties between China and India will serve the interests of both countries and their peoples. Mao is yet to confirm Gang’s meeting with Jaishankar.

All meetings will be held in Rashtrapati Bhavan
