Gang busted for robbing Indian, Asian jewelers in US

New York : The accused have been arrested while busting a gang of 16 people who terrorized and looted Indian and other Asian jewellers. This information has been given by the federal authorities. James Dennehy, special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Newark, said on Wednesday, “The suspects intimidated store owners and employees and committed the robbery.”
FBI Assistant Director David Sundberg said the looted items are worth thousands of dollars. The charge sheet filed in Washington federal court said the nine jewelry stores that were robbed were located from the New York suburb of Jersey City in New Jersey in the northeast to Florida in the southeast through Pennsylvania and Virginia .
Court documents describe the stores as ‘South Asian’, and of them, four are of Indian origin. Court documents say the robbers identified and attacked South Asian jewelers. According to the charge sheet, the gang looted cars or stole vehicles to execute the robberies.
