New Delhi: Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has termed the contribution of the grease industry as very important in the development of India as a manufacturing hub and making it self-reliant. Puri highlighted the importance of the grease industry while inaugurating the three-day program organized at NLGI-IC, Gurugram on Friday. He said that the contribution of Greece industry will be important in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to develop the country as a manufacturing hub and make it self-reliant.
The annual market for Greece in India is around 1.8 lakh tonnes and is expected to reach 2.5 lakh tonnes by 2030 with an annual growth rate of 4 per cent. The Indian government’s focus on infrastructure development is vital to the growing demand for Greece. Grease plays an important role in lubricating all kinds of moving equipment. Dedicated to the growth and prospects of the grease industry in India, the National Lubrication Grease Institute – India Chapter (NLGI-IC) is organizing the conference.
Sudhir Sachdeva, Chairman, Siddharth Grease & Lubes, who presided over the inaugural function, said, “We want inclusive growth of the grease industry. Co-chaired by SSV Ramkumar, Head of NLGI-IC, the theme of the conference is ‘New Opportunities and Net-Zero Emissions for the Grease Industry’.
