The job of every food business operator is to maintain food quality standards to ensure safety and provide satisfaction to every customer. Now it is necessary to have Halal stamp on it. The government may not recognize this Halal label, but this black business was flourishing in the name of Islam. Its turnover had reached thousands of crores and its money was going into the accounts of some religious trusts and institutions, which had no written records anywhere, and no one had any idea about where this money was spent.

A halal kadha business was flourishing in Uttar Pradesh, but now the Yogi government has set its sights on it. Recently, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh took major action against those giving Halal certificates on food items and many other items and completely tightened the noose on this business. As soon as the Yogi government took action, Halal stamped goods disappeared from the markets overnight, because the police had started action against those selling Halal stamped goods, with a provision of punishment up to life imprisonment. But the question also arises that if the dirty business of distributing Halal certificates was going on for a long time, then how could the UP Police, other intelligence agencies and the Food Department get a clue about it. Certainly, the Halal business could not have flourished without government protection. There is also a need to take action against those people who were turning a blind eye to this, because whatever action is being taken on Halal has started after an FIR was lodged by a person in Hazratganj police station of Lucknow.

However, with the action taken by the Yogi government in the Halal certificate issue, a new debate has erupted in UP and adjoining states regarding Halal and Haram. Some are linking Halal with terrorism and other incidents promoting religious conversion, while others are seeing the smell of communalism in it. A lot of politics is also happening on this. At the same time, people engaged in the Halal business feel that the government has caused huge loss to exports in one stroke by banning Halal without thinking. However, the issue of Halal is not limited to UP. The game of imposing Halal stamp is going on in many states including Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has been campaigning against it for almost two years. A seminar of the committee has also been held in Jamshedpur regarding this. Even today, cosmetic products including sweets and snacks with Halal certificate are being sold in many states.

It is noteworthy that the Yogi Adityanath government of UP has taken a big decision to ban the production, storage, distribution and sale of products with alleged Halal certificate. An order to this effect has been issued by the Food Safety Commissioner on 18 November 2023. On 17 November 2023, an FIR was registered in Lucknow against Halal India Private Limited Company and some other organizations and people including Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, in which Halal certificate was termed as an attack on Hindu faith and action was taken against the people associated with it. Was. After the case was registered, the next day on November 18, the Uttar Pradesh government had declared the certificates of FSSI and FSSAI as appropriate for the standards instead of Halal. In the FIR registered in this case, the Delhi and Mumbai offices of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind along with the Chennai and Mumbai offices of Halal India were named. Apart from this, some unknown companies promoting Halal certificate, some other unknown people hatching anti-national conspiracies, unknown groups promoting terrorist activities and some unknown people conspiring to create riots along with playing with public trust were named.
