Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), declined to comment during a news conference on his discussions with the head of Iran’s nuclear program, saying the delegation’s work was still ongoing. “It’s an environment of work, honesty and collaboration,” Grossi said.
The head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog, Rafael Mariano Grossi, held a meeting with officials in Iran on Saturday. The meeting comes days after it was revealed that Iran had enriched uranium particles to weapons-grade levels, raising fresh alarm bells over its long-disputed nuclear programme. Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), declined to comment during a news conference on his discussions with the head of Iran’s nuclear program, saying the delegation’s work was still ongoing. “It’s an environment of work, honesty and collaboration,” Grossi said.
Earlier this week, the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Iran’s underground Fordo nuclear site was found to contain uranium particles enriched to 83.7 percent, just below the level used in weapons.
