New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): The country’s aviation regulator DGCA has imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Tata group airline Air India for non-compliance with passenger-centric rules.
DGCA said it has conducted inspections at Delhi, Kochi and Bengaluru airports in May and September to ascertain the discharge of obligations relating to facilities/compensation provided to passengers by all scheduled airlines as per the provisions prescribed in the rules. Did. A senior DGCA official said, during the inspection of the airlines, it was found that Air India was not complying with the provisions of the relevant Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR). Accordingly, a show cause notice was issued to Air India on 3 November, seeking its response.
Following the reply given by Air India, it was found that it had not complied with the provisions of CAR. Among other things, not providing hotel accommodation for passengers affected by delayed flights, not training some of their ground personnel, not providing compensation to international business class passengers after being forced to travel under the conditions stipulated in CAR and unusable seats. Including non-payment of Rs. “DGCA has imposed a financial penalty of Rs 10 lakh on Air India for non-compliance of rules,” the official said.
