Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sardar Latif Khosa has claimed that party founder Imran Khan will be released from jail in April. The former prime minister’s sentence in the Toshakhana case has been suspended by the court, while the Cipher case will not last even a week, Khosa said during his appearance on a show on ARY News. As the PTI founder’s involvement was not proven in any case related to the May 9 riots, Khosa rejected the conviction of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Sifar case, saying the documents were not made available before the court.

The PTI leader confirmed that the party founder would not negotiate his release or flee the country. Khosa stressed that Imran Khan wants all institutions to work according to the Constitution of Pakistan and he is against vendetta politics. On political dialogue, the PTI leader said talks with the PTI founder would be possible after the party returns the mandate it received in the February 8 elections. According to ARY News report, Khosa took a dig at the Shehbaz Sharif government by saying that it cannot even appoint a home minister of its choice.

Earlier, during his appearance on ARY News programme, PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan reiterated the party’s claim that Imran Khan will be released from jail this month. Describing the cases against the PTI founder as “politically motivated cases”, he announced that all legal proceedings against Khan were being dropped.
