At present, Imran Khan is in fear of being arrested again and the police have surrounded his house in Zaman Park. NAB had on May 18 summoned Imran Khan and several other PTI leaders in connection with its probe into the Al-Qadir Trust case. In its notice, NAB had sought information from Imran in connection with its 2019 probe into UK’s National Crime Agency’s assets worth 190 million pounds. Presently Imran Khan is on bail. According to Dawn news, NAB has also sent a notice to Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi.
NAB warns of legal action
NAB has also warned the PTI chief of legal action in case he does not comply with the summons. Imran Khan is scared that he may be arrested again. He said in a tweet, ‘This could be my last tweet before arrest. The police have surrounded my house. After Imran’s arrest on May 9, his supporters staged violent protests across the country. The government has labeled those involved in the violence as ‘terrorists’.
24-hour ultimatum given to Imran
The Punjab Police claims that 40 ‘terrorists’ involved in the May 9 riots are hiding in Imran Khan’s house in Zaman Park. The government has given Imran Khan an ultimatum of 24 hours to hand over these people. This deadline will end at 2 pm today. It is reported that the police have closed the road leading to Zaman Park. Heavy police force is deployed on the spot. The security personnel are wearing bulletproof jackets and have weapons and sticks in their hands.
