Instructions to bring Imran to court within an hour
The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to produce PTI chairman Imran Khan within an hour. The directions were given by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC), comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Athar Minallah. The Supreme Court bench is hearing PTI chairman Imran Khan’s plea against the arrest at Al-Qadir Trust.
Bilawal said – do not make the matter worse
Foreign Minister and Pakistan People’s Party leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called for an immediate end to the protests and advised Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party not to make things worse. He stressed that he was not in favor of banning Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The party is attacking sensitive state establishments. Addressing a press conference here, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal said the PTI’s reaction to Khan’s arrest in a corruption case was totally inappropriate.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also came under arrest after Imran
The dramatic arrest of former Pakistan Prime Minister Khan from a court complex in a corruption case has sparked widespread violence across the country, leaving at least eight people dead and nearly 100,000 people injured in clashes between protesters and law enforcement agencies. 300 other people were injured. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a close aide of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister, was arrested by the police on Thursday amid violence in Pakistan.
