Khan’s detention last month on corruption charges sparked deadly violence. Thousands of his supporters stormed cities, setting buildings on fire and clashing with police. He was released from custody after the Supreme Court declared his arrest illegal. But he says the government is still planning to detain him in a bid to slow his momentum ahead of elections due in October.
