The development comes after Mazari was arrested several times in the past few days following the May 9 riots. Earlier, during violent protests at defense and public establishments including the Lahore Corps Commander House and the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. He was once again arrested after a Gujranwala court granted him bail in a case related to assault and sabotage.

Malik Amin Aslam resigns from PTI

Malik Amin Aslam of PTI has announced to leave the party. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said the party had embarked on a “destructive” path. Saying that he did not want anything to do with it, he announced to leave PTI. After quitting PTI, Malik Amin Aslam says he believes the party has gone in the “wrong direction” and some elements in PTI are working to ditch it.

8 senior leaders have left PTI
