Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir was comprehensively briefed about the law and order situation since May 9 at the crucial meeting of the Special Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at GHQ (General Headquarters) Rawalpindi. They were told that the violence took place to achieve vested political interests. A press statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the forum was briefed in detail about the prevailing internal and external security environment.

Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir has decided that action will be taken against those conspiring to attack and sabotage military installations under the Pakistan Army Act and the Official Secrets Act.
