Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, 09 December (HS). Income Tax Department raids on the premises of Boudh Distilleries in Jharkhand and Odisha continued for the third day on Saturday. The Income Tax Department has seized cash worth Rs 290 crore in this raid while the counting of the remaining notes is still going on.
Official sources said that the Income Tax Department has so far seized cash worth Rs 290 crore in raids on premises linked to Boudh Distilleries Private Limited. According to the information, Baldev Sahu Infra Private Limited Company is a group company of Boudh Distilleries, which is linked to Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand, Dheeraj Sahu.
Officials said that after the ongoing raids against Boudh Distillery Private Limited and others for the last three days, the Income Tax Department has installed about 40 big and small machines for counting the notes. For this, Income Tax Department and bank employees have been deployed.
As part of this action, Income Tax Department officials have also raided the premises associated with Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand, Dheeraj Prasad Sahu. Income tax officials are now recording statements of company officials and other persons associated with it.
