New Delhi, 20 December (Hindustan Reporter). Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a bilateral meeting with New Zealand Trade Minister Todd McClay to boost economic ties between India and New Zealand. Measures to reduce trade barriers and create an investor-friendly environment were discussed in the meeting.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said on Wednesday that a meeting was held here on December 19 under the chairmanship of Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and his New Zealand counterpart Todd McClay. During this, both the ministers stressed the need to increase engagement between the two countries under a cooperative approach. Along with this, measures to promote economic relations and create an investor-friendly environment were discussed in the meeting.
According to the ministry, Piyush Goyal and Todd McClay recognized the importance of trade facilitation and discussed measures to streamline trade processes, reduce bottlenecks and promote a more conducive environment for business sectors and investors in both countries. Apart from this, both the ministers also emphasized on strengthening relations in agriculture, forestry, pharma, connectivity, education and tourism sectors.
