India and Sri Lanka both think same on regional security and influence of China

Colombo: Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited India for the first time in the midst of the economic crisis. China’s influence in the Indian Ocean region is continuously increasing. Meanwhile, his visit was termed as very important. It has been told by official sources that during Wickremesinghe’s visit to India, the views of India and Sri Lanka on regional security appeared to be similar. what happened last year
China’s spy ship Yuan Wang reached Hambantota on August 5 last year. China calls it a research ship. Sri Lanka had told China after India’s objection that it cannot do any scientific research in Sri Lanka’s territorial waters. To reassure India, the Sri Lankan government had announced new standard operating procedures for foreign research ships and military ships on July 18, two days before Wickremesinghe’s visit.
