India-China LAC Row: Military officers of India and China met in Daulat Beg Oldi sector, know what happened

Major General level talks were held in Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) sector to resolve the ongoing military standoff between India and China. Major Generals of India and China held talks in the DBO sector to resolve the standoff between the two sides for the last three years. India Today, quoting defense sources, has said in its report that the talks are important as they are meant to resolve issues between the two sides in the same region.

Last month, India and China held the 18th round of Corps Commander talks in the eastern Ladakh sector to resolve issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). While the Indian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Rashim Bali, an officer of the same rank from the local theater command led the talks with the Chinese side. The meeting was significant as it took place just before the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) defense ministers’ meeting, which was also attended by Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu and discussed issues concerning the two sides.

In addition to talks, both sides are also increasingly investing in infrastructure development in the high mountain ranges to strengthen their respective positions. India and China are understood to have discussed de-escalation and heritage issues of Depsang plains and Demchok in the talks held on Sunday. According to sources, India and China have been successful in resolving some of the issues discussed during the last round of talks.
