India is getting the benefit of Russia’s position, Iranian ambassador said- expresses readiness to resume exports

Iran’s Ambassador to India Iraj Elahi said that Iran is an oil producer and oil is important for our economy. Despite sanctions as you know we have been under sanctions for more than 10 years we have found some ways to sell our oil and oil products like petrochemicals and other products. The Iranian ambassador said that India is getting the benefit of Russia’s position and no one can blame India. India is following its national interest and Iran is also following its own national interest. We have learned how to deal with sanctions – not only in oil exports but also in money transfers.

The Iranian Ambassador said that we always express our readiness to resume our exports to India. It is up to India, what I want to say is that the number of countries under sanctions is increasing day by day. All countries should learn how to live under sanctions otherwise they will lose their interest. Iran and Saudi Arabia are two pillars of the Islamic world, two powers in the west of Asia. There are distinct similarities between the two countries.
