India-Japan will do joint air exercise
For the first time this year, India and Japan are conducting a joint air exercise named ‘Veer Guardian’ amid rising Chinese aggression. The exercise will take place in Japan from January 16 to January 26. Japan is a partner in the Quad group along with India, the US and Australia. Kishida had visited India in March 2022 for the first time as PM of Japan for the India-Japan annual summit. During the visit, both sides decided to come together against the growing Chinese aggression.
Japanese PM on Western visit
In his speech, Kishida said that he discussed China’s increasing military activities with President Biden. The Japanese Prime Minister is currently on a tour of western countries. Apart from America, he will also visit Britain, France, Italy and Canada. After the Ukraine war, Western countries are trying to isolate Russia. These include Japan as well. At such a time, China is increasing its closeness with Russia. The international challenges of both countries are almost the same and the biggest enemy of both is America. At present, China is engaged in intimidating Taiwan. He has also talked about merging it with mainland China. For this, he is keeping a close watch on the Russia-Ukraine war.
