According to the news of the newspaper ‘The News International’, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) said on Thursday that under the Import Policy Order 2022, importing important drugs (anti-cancer drugs and vaccines) from India for their own use, hospitals will be fined. Or there is no restriction on common man. However, for this, first objection certificate (NOC) will have to be taken from the authority. The statement by DRAP officials came during a session of the Standing Committee of Parliamentarians on Health.
Pakistani ‘Ambani’ had demanded to start business
In the session, Member of Parliament Professor Mehar Taj Rogani raised the issue of non-availability of several essential medicines in the country amid financial crisis. DRAP officials said, “In view of the non-availability of some essential medicines in Pakistan, general public and hospitals can apply for NOC to import medicines directly from India.” At present there is no restriction on import of any drug from India under the Import Policy Order 2022.
Billionaire Mian Mansha, who is called Ambani of Pakistan, had appealed to the Shahbaz government just a few days ago to resume trade with India. He had said that if this trade starts now, Pakistan’s poverty will also go away. The Shahbaz government rejected this suggestion and said that trade with India will not start until Article 370 is restored in Kashmir. Pakistan’s textile industry is also demanding that it should be allowed to import cotton, but the Shahbaz government has turned a deaf ear to it. Due to this, hundreds of factories have been closed in Pakistan and people have become unemployed.
