New Delhi: The office of the Consulate General of India in Chicago on Saturday said it is providing all possible assistance to the relatives of Kolkata-based Kuchipudi dancer Amarnath Ghosh and the deceased. ‘We are investigating with forensics, police and providing assistance’. The issue was raised by popular TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who in a post on Instagram criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Asked for help from Jaishankar and demanded to bring his friend’s body back to India as soon as possible.
He wrote in the post that Ghosh was alone in the family. His mother died three years ago and his father died in his childhood. Describing Ghosh, who is pursuing his PhD, as an ‘excellent dancer’, Devoleena said Ghosh was taking an evening walk on Tuesday when he was ‘shot by an unknown person’.
